•    Build strong, direct relationships with your clients and team
•    Gain valuable experience working in a social care environment
•    Great job satisfaction

Every day at Threshold Support Services our team provides a wide range of support to people with learning disabilities living throughout South Lanarkshire. We help them to lead ordinary lives, participating in their local communities and activities of their choice. This means creating a safe, secure and supportive environment and empowering them to take charge of their own lives and live life to the full.

Sometimes it’s the little things that count. Such as encouragement to keep their home tidy, or going with them to the shops on a Wednesday, or the cinema on Thursday, helping them to attend a college course, or to arrange a social night with friends.  It can be pretty challenging at times but working as part of our support team, your support will definitely make the difference.

What do you need?  No direct experience is required.  It’s more a positive approach and a genuine interest in helping others in a practical way.  Experience of supporting people in their own homes would be an advantage.  A qualification in Social Care would be ideal but it’s not essential as we’ll support you to gain it. In fact, we’ll make sure that you have all the training and development you need, not only so you can do a great job, but to help you build your career with us too.

For the permanent role, you can also look forward to an excellent benefits package that includes an employer contributory pension and generous holiday allowance.

What’s more, you will be part of one of Scotland’s largest voluntary social work organisations. At CrossReach, we offer quality care and counselling to a wide range of people in need. But the real story of CrossReach is the work that our staff do: reaching out and making a real difference to the lives of others. If you’d like to join them, we look forward to hearing from you.

Applicants are required to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. These posts are subject to PVG Membership.

CrossReach is the operating name for The Church of Scotland Social Care Council.
